Misery
He would rather drown in misery,
before he gushes all the life in his throat to speak a last goodbye,
use the oxygen that he ran out of hours ago,
let go of his primal instinct to fight or flight
Just to utter how much he cared in a single character so emphatically dense
Knowing misery doesn't flow feeling,
Knowing well no sound of tears are echoed in its womb
Knowing well I gave up on that last shimmer of hope ages ago
He would say it, with all his might being a worthless human, a broken heart
Still perishing, but dying as the human and aching as her heart
He would mumble with all his might knowing well it won't pierce her ears for she was deaf to his joy…
Knowing well it won't pierce her ears for she was deaf to his joy
What good would despair do for she is deaf and benign
Her self isn't to blame she was lost in the night
Too lost to find love and too scared to even try
She would harden, too numb to shed a tear, too dumb to even cry
She knows the ocean of misery better than him and i
Knows no one comes out without sacrificing an arm and eye
She continues to lower the anchor and he was too dumb to open his eyes
What It Means to Be a Man
To be a man is not defined
By mere wits or strength combined
It's found within a deeper place
In his character and heartfelt grace
From the filthiest of sewers
To the battle scars turning blue and bluer
A man is the one who stands with pride
The one who shields with his back far and wide
In times of trouble, he'll be there
Shouldering burdens and showing care
Although he cries, his tears are not a sign of weak
But empathy that runs within him deep
He, a father who nurtures and protects
and guides his children with due respect
He leads them a love and warmth-filled light
Inspiring dreams and reaching new heights
To be a man means to be true
to one's own self and to others too
To build a world that's just and fair
a world fueled by love and heartfelt care
Echoes After Goodbye
In shadows cast, love's flame did fade,
A cherished soul, now distant shade.
Gone from grasp, my heartache swells,
Memories linger, tolling bells.
In dreams we meet, entwined as one,
But waking hours, an empty sun.
Yet through the pain, I'll rise above,
Forever missed, but still, I love.
